Editorial & Documentary Wedding Photography on the French Riviera

There is no single way to photograph a wedding. Some moments are best simply observed, while others benefit from a little direction to make the most of the light, a silhouette or the setting.
My approach to wedding photography on the French Riviera sits between these two worlds: an editorial perspective, with attention to aesthetics and composition, and a documentary approach, focused on gestures, connections and everything that unfolds naturally throughout the day.
WHAT DOES AN EDITORIAL & DOCUMENTARY APPROACH MEAN?
The editorial side brings particular attention to light, lines, movement and the way an image is composed. It allows for more considered portraits without making people feel posed or rigid.
The documentary side leaves more room for what happens spontaneously: a burst of laughter, a look, a gesture between loved ones, an emotion that appears without warning.
These two approaches are not opposites. They naturally complement each other throughout the day, depending on the moment, the people and the energy of the wedding.

PHOTOGRAPHY THAT EVOLVES WITH THE RHYTHM OF THE DAY
A wedding does not carry the same energy from beginning to end. The preparations and portraits may call for quieter, more considered images, while moments between family and friends are often best simply observed.
As the day unfolds, the photographs can become more spontaneous, more immersive and freer, particularly when the evening begins and everyone starts to let go.
The photography follows this evolution rather than imposing the same style on every part of the day.

AN APPROACH PARTICULARLY SUITED TO THE FRENCH RIVIERA
The French Riviera offers an incredible variety of settings: the sea, villas, hotels, gardens, Mediterranean architecture and hilltop villages.
This visual richness lends itself naturally to an editorial approach, with attention to lines, light and details, while still leaving plenty of room for spontaneous moments.
The idea is not to turn the location into a fashion set, but to allow it to become part of the story and give the photographs their own sense of place.
ELEGANT IMAGES, NEVER STATIC
Elegance does not come only from a beautiful pose or a carefully designed setting. It can also be found in movement, an attitude, the way two people look at one another or the energy of a group.
I aim to keep that sense of intention without losing what gives the photographs character: movement, expression, gestures and sometimes a little unpredictability.
It is this balance between aesthetics and spontaneity that creates a wedding story that feels considered, alive and personal.
WHO IS THIS APPROACH FOR?
This approach is for couples who care about the aesthetic of their wedding but do not want to spend the entire day posing for photographs.
For those who value beautiful imagery just as much as genuine moments, and who appreciate a little guidance when it adds something to the photograph, while still having the freedom to fully experience their day.
Every wedding remains different. The aim is not to reproduce a set of images that already exists, but to create a story shaped by you, the people around you and the atmosphere of your celebration.
